Indego Ridership Recovered in 2019

Published April 29th, 2020 by Emily

In June of 2019 I posted about how Indego Bike Share ridership decreased for the first time in 2018. This post serves as an update, with the 2019 ridership data that is now available.

Ridership in 2019 recovered from the downturn in 2018. Interestingly there doesn't seem to have been any changes to the pass pricing structure since 2018. It remains my opinion that ridership would have been higher in 2018 and 2019 if the one-time pass had remained an option.

No doubt the current global pandemic will have a drastic effect on ridership. On April 23rd Indego announced the Indego30 pass would be $5 for the first thirty days. It remains to be seen if the pricing will continue after the first thirty days.

Indego generally releases new data a couple of months after a quarter has finished. I will follow up after Indego posts new data.
